This is my latest attempt to manufacture an authentic, expressive sound without using any recorded instruments.

I transcribed the notes directly into the note lane by ear after listening to various singers and cellists perform the song, taking a few liberties. I transposed the song into Bach's original pitch for my version.

Harp dynamics were modulated by adjusting the volume column for each note.

Violin dynamics were a bit tricker because of the ability to crescendo/decrescendo midnote. I drew out an automation track to guide the volume slider to give it that emotive human quality (picture below). This was probably the bulk of the work here.

Tempo was modulated in much the same way, an automation was drawn out to guide the metronome.

There's not much to say about the female choir. It's mostly a duplicate of the violin track, faded in and out to provide accent.

This song was basically made for me to learn how to produce authentic sounding expressions so I can step up the quality of my own orchestrations.

Finally, I know I've been keeping quiet on NG for a year. But, I have been working on a biggish project that'll soon be ready for release!
